Op zoek naar een goede domeinnaam voor uw business?

In bovenstaande video van 17 maart 2011 legt Matt Cutts uit dat de waarde van keywords in een domeinnaam in de zoekmachine van Google minder waarde meekrijgen dan voorheen.

Matt Cutts zegt dan ook dat een ‘brandable domain’ boven een ‘keyword rich domain’ verkozen zou moeten worden. Hiermee wordt aangegeven dat het hebben van een unieke domeinnaam beter gebrand kan worden en beter onthouden wordt, daarnaast wordt er met een unieke domeinnaam tevens onderscheidt gewekt bij de klanten.

Dus, domeinnaam kiezen? Denk even na over bovenstaande informatie.

Merknaam en Namaak SEO?

Via SearchEngine Land op een interessant artikel gestuit. In Amerika is er een SEO Dienstverlener schuldig bevonden aan merknaam misbruik en het promoten van verkoop van namaakproducten.

De rechtbank in amerika oordeelde dat het SEO bedrijf bewust zou moeten zijn met de regelgeving omtrent deze zaken en deze toch actief te hebben ingezet en geadviseerd.

Het vreemdste uit het gehele artikel is dat de aanbieder van deze SEO diensten zelf zwaarder wordt beboet dat de eigenaar van de website.

Zoals altijd al geweest, maar hierbij nogmaals herhaald, focus op je eigen sterke punten en probeer niet over de ‘rug van een concurrent’ beter te worden.

Modx google redirect hack [solved]

Just today we were informed that one of our customers had a problem with visitors from search engines like google. After hitting one of their links threw the Organic Search, the visitor would not see the website, but would be redirected to a searchpage on a .pl domain.

After some digging and some research, we found out that this did happen previously on Modx hosted websites, but no mentions of recent activities.

For a few weeks ago we had a similair problem with a Joomla website and a WordPress hack, therefore, we knew where to look at.

Wonder if your site has been hacked? Check your config.core.php file in your root, does it on the first line show a rule with a very long id? And also a code like ‘base64_decode’ than you are likely to have been hacked.

In your /assets/snippets/etc 1 of the files has code like ‘$modx base_url’ code wich will in the end redirect the visitor to the search page.

Been hacked? Inform your website builder and ask them to solve the issue asap, you can inform them about this thread in order for them to start searching on the right locations.

Latest google update [Panda]

At the 24th of februari google has updated their algorithm (again).

This time, the algorithm has been focused on showing more high-quality websites with unique content, seems the days that ‘content scrapers’ gained their income by fetching others days seem to become history soon.

Below an example from a international website wich has gained 6% more traffic in the past 2 days, perhaps, we couldn’t conclude it yet, due to this latest update.
